Perhaps the biggest instigator of the flare-ups of intercommunal violence is and has been the many rapes and murders of Buddhist women and girls, by Muslims, especially by Bengali Muslims. The rising number of brutal rapes of Buddhist girls set off increasingly boiling tensions as the abuses, intolerance, violence, and supremacy of the Muslims drives the Buddhists to the point of taking action to stop the violent abuses.
