ISIS militant captured after trying to ‘cross border’ while posing as woman in a BURKA
The shamed militant was paraded in front of government forces near Al-Arish, the capital of North Sinai province, 200 miles north-east of Cairo on the Mediterranean coast.
An image posted on Twitter by terrorism monitoring group MEMRI showed the man dressed head-to-toe in black with Egyptian soldiers smiling for the photo.
The tweet read: “Egyptian soldiers posing with alleged #ISIS operative dressed as a woman, captured in Al-Arish. #Sinai”
The Egyptian jihadist was reportedly attempting to defect from ISIS-affiliates in Sinai by using the disguise.
ISIS have used burkas in the past to sneak undetected across international borders.
